The Mobile IP Tactical Advantage Case™ (MIPTAC™)

Roughly the size of a beverage cooler, the Mobile IP Tactical Advantage Case (MIPTAC) allows technicians in the field to set up wireless networks virtually anywhere, using a satellite link or surrounding Wi-Fi. The technology has been designed for immediate action and can operate in the most extreme environments.

Within days of Hurricane Katrina, a system that featured ICI's MIPTAC technology made its way to one of the hotel rooms near the Superdome, where city officials used it to make their first phone calls. The equipment was driven into New Orleans in a standard passenger vehicle, and was immediately able to support global communication without access to commercial power, phone lines, or cellular phone access.
